Our travel guide and review for your perfect day or weekend at Club Med Bintan

Why haven't we done this before? Was the question on everyone's mind when got our first glimpse of the clear water beaches upon arrival at Club Med, Bintan. It was the perfect destination choice to celebrate my latest birthday, all inclusive food and cocktails for the day, white sand beaches and not even a flight away from Singapore.

Getting to Club Med Bintan Indonesia from Singapore:

We took the one hour 9.10am ferry from Tanah Merah Ferry terminal in Singapore, booked via Bintan Resort Ferries. If taking a taxi to get to the ferry terminal we recommend using the app Grab (for a first time discount use our referral code GRAB 1HU0ZBZO)

The price of an economy ferry ticket was $23 SGD each way, however we left it last minute and ended up having to book Emerald class for double the price to get our desired time slot (it's best to book at least a week in advance). We did however enjoy the perks of being Emerald Class passengers, including the peace and quite of lounge access while waiting to board our ferry and a larger seat once we boarded. Upon arrival at the ferry terminal we jumped in a taxi and headed off to Club Med, a 10 minute drive away.

Where to stay on Bintan Island:

This post contains some affiliate hotel links, if you click through and book via these links we will get a small commission at no extra cost to you.

From Singapore, it's possible to visit Bintan Island for a day trip only, however if you're looking to stay longer, the island offers a range of accommodation options for all budgets and at all levels of luxury (See the options here). To enjoy a day pass at Club Med, you also don't need to stay at the hotel itself, it's possible to visit just for the day.

About the Club Med Bintan Day Pass:

A single day pass or day + evening pass can be booked on arrival at the Club Med Bintan Resort. We tried to book in advance but it was not possible. The day pass was excellent value, $1.2M IDR ($116 SGD per person) for an all inclusive day at the resort (less than the cost of just a few cocktails on a night out in Singapore).

We had so many fun filled activities included in our pass to choose from, water sports, fitness classes, golf lessons, a flying trapeze, there was more than a single day could fill. There was also a wide selection of food and beverage options ensuring we would spend the day fully indulged.

When to visit Club Med Bintan:

The best time to visit Bintan Island is during the dry season, between March to October, but this is also peak season thus can be busy. We visited on a Saturday in early March and still found it reasonably quiet.

How we spent our day at Club Med Bintan:

While there is a wide range of activities on offer for all ages, we opted to spend the day by the beach, enjoying a book, laying on the deck chairs and a swimming in the small waves. Our day included an endless selection of cocktails, barbecue snacks by the beach, a buffet lunch and an afternoon swim in the pool. We opted only for the day pass which ended at 6pm. The resort has shower facilities where we were able to freshen up before heading back to the ferry terminal for our 8pm ferry back to Singapore.
