Updated: Jul 18
Getting ready for a trip to Komodo National Park, Flores, Indonesia? We recently embarked on a five day journey to explore this hidden Jurassic Paradise in the Flores Sea for our honeymoon. We were in search of private beaches with crystal clear reefs, pink sand, hiking trails along isolated volcanic hills and of course the world famous Komodo Dragons. For inspiration planning your Komodo Islands holiday itinerary see our 5D 4N Komodo Travel Guide.
Below are our top picks for what to pack for a trip to Komodo Islands, Flores, Indonesia.
Our Checklist to pack for sailing around the Komodo Islands, Flores, Indonesia:
Passport (Don't forget to check for Visa requirements)
Wallet with enough cash for daily national park fees of 225 IDR per day per person
Photography equipment. We highly recommend an underwater camera to capture all of the vibrant underwater life
A sun hat or cap (When you're setting sail hold onto your hats! We sadly lost two hats to the blissful ocean breeze).
A backpack for hiking
Enclosed shoes for your trekking days
SPF 50+ Sunscreen
Mosquito Repellant for on land
A small towel or blanket
Shampoo & conditioner (This was heaven after a long day in the water with hair full of sea salt)
General toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash, face wash
Snorkeling gear if you prefer your own but typically this is included with any boat trip
Entertainment items: A book, cards, games, speakers (our boat already had this)
Any extra snacks or drinks you may want on your journey. This can often be pre organised with your boat for all your needs to be stocked onboard in advance
